Day01 Arrive in Chengdu Arrive in Chengdu, capital of province Sichuan, the home town of Panda. Picked up by the local guide at airport and transferred to hotel. 1N at 4*Minshan Lhasa Hotel Day02 Chengdu – Sanxingdui – Pingwu BLD In the morning drive to Chengdu Giant Panda Base of Breeding and Research. Founder in 1985, today there are over 50 giant panda living here. Afterwards drive via Mianyang and Jiangyou to Pingwu. En route visit Sanxingdui Museum. This site is recognized as one of the most important ancient remains in the world for its vast size, lengthy period and enriched cultural contents. The unique Sanxingdui Museum is a good place to explore the mysterious ancient Shu culture and history. In the late afternoon reach Pingwu. 1N at 2*Pingwu Hotel Day03 Pingwu – Jiuzhaigou BLD Keep drive to Jiuzhaigou (Nine-villages Valley), which is listed as a World Natrual Heritage and reputed as a “fairyland” with its fantastic natural view. It is named after the nine Tibetan villages in the scenic area. On the way visit the Bao’en Si Temple. 2N at 4*Gesang Hotel Day04 Jiuzhaigou BLD Walking and sightseeing the whole day in three valleys of Jiuzhaigou (Nine-villages Valley). As the water, the “soul of Jiuzhaigou”, is purely and crystal-like clear and rich in colors, there goes the saying that no water is worth your attention after your visit to Jiuzhaigou. Day05 Jiuzhaigou – Huanglong – Songpan BLD In the morning drive to visit the Huanglong (Yellow Dragon) Scenic Spot which is listed as a World Natrual Heritage. Huanglong is marked by its low-temperature and highly calcified Karst landform, which forms numerous valuable colored ponds. In the afternoon drive to Songpan, stroll through the old city wall. 1N at 3*Taiyanghe Hotel Day06 Songpan – Ruoergai – Langmusi BLD Drive via Ruoergai and through wide grasslands to Langmusi Monastery at the border of provinces Sichuan and Gansu. Visit the monastery Taktsang Lhamo (Langmu Si). 1N at 2*Langmu Si Hotel Day07 Langmusi – Hezuo – Xiahe BLD Drive to Xiahe, which is 2,900 meters above the sea level and almost exclusively inhabited by Tibetans. On the way visit the Milarepa Monastery in Hezuo. 1N at 3*Wangfu Hotel Day08 Xiahe – Tongren BLD In the morning visit Labrang monastery, the most important religious centre on the northeast border of the Tibetan region. The monastery created in 1710, as one of the six grand monasteries in Tibetan area, has served for centuries there to connect the Tibetan and Mongolian Lamaism. In the afternoon drive to Tongren. 1N at 3*Regong Hotel Day09 Tongren – Xining BLD In the morning visit Longwu monastery of Gelukpa sect which was initially constructed in Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) as a monastery of Sakya-sect and Wutun village the center of Tibetan Regong-Art, which is a successful mixture of religion and folk art. In the afternoon drive to Xining, the capital of Qinghai province. This city is mainly inhabited with Tibetan but also a home of Uygur, Kazak and Hui minorities. 2N at 4*Holiday Dynasty Hotel Day10 Xining – Kumbum – Koko Nor – Xining BLD In the morning drive to Kumbum Monastery (Ta'er Si) of Gelukpa-sect, which was built in 1560 in Huangzhong county and also one of the six grand monasteries in Tibetan area. Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Lamaistic "yellow hat sect", was born here. As Kumbum-monastery has always been playing an important role to connect the Mongolian with the Lamaism, today many Mongolian come to this place for worship. Afterwards cross over Sun-and-Moon mountain (Ri Yue Shan) to Koko Nor Lake (Qinghai Hu). In 641 Wencheng princess of Tang Dynasty passed by this mountain where today a sun-pavilion and a moon-pavilion are built on the summit for people to have a break. The Sun-and-Moon mountain has always been an distinguish line between meadow and agriculture area. Walking by the Koko Nor Lake, the biggest salty lake in China. "Koko Nor" in Mongolian language means "blue sea” because of the lunar shape and the color of the lake. In the late afternoon drive back to Xining. Day11 Xining – Bingling Si – Lanzhou BLD Drive to Lanzhou, the capital of province Gansu. The city has long been an important city on the Silk Road in history. The Yellow river flows through the whole Gansu province. En route make an excursion to grottos of 1000-Buddha's-temple in Bingling over the yellow. The grottos of the monastery are firstly built in 420AD. Figures here are older than those in Dunghuang-Grottos. 1N at 4*Legend Hotel Day12 Leave Lanzhou BL In the morning visit the Silk Road Museum. In the afternoon transfer to airport, leave Lanzhou.
